Chu Hoi-ying is an emerging film director based in Hong Kong. Her recent directed short film 3 Generations 3 Days (2019) won the Best Director and Fresh Wave Award at 13th Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival and Best Live Action Short Film at 56th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards. She earned her BA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong Music Department in 2011 and MFA from Hong Kong Baptist University Academy of Film in 2014. Chu was a member of Asian Film Academy at Busan International Film Festival in 2016. In 2018, she got selected into International Film Business Academy of Busan Asian Film School with a full scholarship. In 2019, she then got selected into Taiwan Golden Horse Film Academy. In 2020, she attended Berlinale Talents and Bucheon Fantastic Film School. All of these film labs offered great inspiration and encouragements for her filmmaking career.
